SFB Lineage
The SFB Lineage is a tapestry of ancient wisdom and modern somatic science. We are fundamentally rooted in Tibetan Buddhist principles, embodying the path of Karuna (compassion) and Prajna (wisdom). Our practice is guided by the realization of Anitya (impermanence) and the cultivation of Sati (mindfulness), teaching students to move with an awareness that transcends the ego.
Structurally, we stand on the shoulders of the YogaWorks method, emphasizing safe, anatomical alignment and a balanced Hatha practice. This technical precision is deepened by decades of clinical expertise in manual therapy from the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences in NYC, ensuring every movement is informed by a profound understanding of the body’s musculoskeletal and nervous systems.
As an MBSR teacher (Brown University/School of Professional Studies), our style integrates evidence-based mindfulness with the "Internal Dialogue" of the YogaWorks tradition. We teach students to listen to their resistance and navigate life’s chaos with equanimity. We don't just train bodies; we don't stop stress, we great it. We train "Stress-Free" humans to be in a wise relationship with their whole selves and their stress, ensuring that stress does not harbor in the body, mind, or heart. Our style is heart-centered, anatomically rigorous, and deeply restorative.
